Alison
was born in Highland Park Michigan and raised in Commerce Township,
Michigan. Following her marriage to Carl, she lived in Cedarville,
Michigan and Highland Township, Michigan before moving to Rose
Township in 1982. She and Carl raised their three sons in Rose
Township.
Alison is a graduate of Walled Lake Western High
School and Baker College, Flint. She also attended Michigan State
University, Oakland Community College, and University of Michigan,
Flint. She is a member of Psi-Chi, The National Honor Society in
Psychology. She received her bachelor’s degree in Business
Administration in 1995.
After high school, Alison was appointed to the
position of Deputy Clerk in the City of Orchard Lake Village. In
1990, Alison was appointed to serve as deputy clerk of Rose
Township, a part-time position working for Clerk Gibbard. She was
appointed Clerk/Treasurer of the Village of Holly in 1992 and served
in that capacity until she was elected to serve as the Rose Township
Clerk in 1996. In 1995, Alison earned her designation as a
"Certified Municipal Clerk" by the International Institute of
Municipal Clerks. Alison was elected to the office of Township
Supervisor in November 2008.
Alison has served on the board of Directors for
the North Oakland County Fire Authority for 12+ years and served on
the Rose Township Planning Commission for 5 years. She is the 2nd
Vice President of the Oakland County Chapter of the Michigan
Townships Association and has previously served as president of that
organization as well as of the Oakland County Clerks Association.
She is the secretary of the Holly Washington Club.
Over the years, Alison has been employed as a
Michigan State Park Ranger, a contracted test driver for General
Motors and a resort manager during her time in Cedarville, Michigan.
In her other life, Alison enjoys family, music
and hobby basket weaving.
